Switzerland - Women rally for equal pay - June 30, 2024

Hundreds of thousands of women took part in the 2024 feminist strike. Collectives and unions called for the demonstrations, and the demands focused on equal pay, minimum wages and a living wage pension. The union Unia denounces persistent gender wage disparities: 44% of women who have completed an apprenticeship earn less than CHF 5,000 (€ 5,164). According to Unia, wages in professions where women predominate are systematically too low.
