Trade union Vårdförbundet for health professionals has announced an extension of its strike notice, affecting approximately 1900 additional members across 170 workplaces. This extension includes new areas and expands the strike in previously notified regions, including key hospitals. The union is pushing for concrete proposals to reduce working hours, which it believes will improve retention and sustainability within the healthcare profession. However, the employers’ oprganisations SKR and Sobona have rejected their demands, shifting blame for persistent healthcare issues onto the union instead. The new strike notice also covers staffing pools and planned care in additional areas.
