The minimum wage will rise from the current € 1,050 to € 1,134 gross per month. Compared to the previous minimum wage level, this represents a 5% increase and will be paid in 14 instalments, the measure is set to be approved in the Council of Ministers. According to the prime minister, the minimum wage increase will help strengthen the “social shield” which the government seeks to protect the most vulnerable.
