Spain - Public consultation opens on move to 37.5 hour working week - November 30, 2024

Following the failure of negotiations with employers' organisations on the reduction of working hours, the labour ministry is standing firm on its plan to present a bill to reduce the working week from 40 to 37.5 hours from 1 January 2025. It has opened a preliminary public consultation, running from 23 November to 7 December, which should include a better framework for the effective monitoring of hours worked and the right to disconnect.
