Slovenia - Private security employers refuse to negotiate - August 31, 2024

Representatives of the Union of Utilities, Security and Real Estate Business of Slovenia (SKVNS) waited in vain for the representatives of the employers at the last negotiation meeting for a new collective agreement in private security. In the private security industry, the trade union and the employer side committed themselves eight years ago when concluding the collective agreement at that time to strive for the conclusion of a new, more comprehensive collective agreement, as it is necessary to fully regulate the position of employees in the industry. SKVNS was constantly striving to start negotiations that would lead to a new collective agreement, but the employer's side showed no readiness for them. After several unsuccessful appeals to the employers’ side, the SKVNS cancelled the collective agreement on February 22, 2023.
