New collective agreements for public service workers and civil servants were concluded, setting the terms for 2025 and 2026. The agreements, negotiated by KOZ SR, introduce important changes aimed at improving wages and working conditions. In 2025, public sector workers will receive a one-time bonus of € 800, scheduled for payment in May. This bonus is expected to provide significant relief, particularly for lower-paid workers. From January 2026, both the basic salary scale for public service workers and the salary scales for civil servants will increase by 5%. The agreements also improve social benefits, including better working hours adjustments, extended annual leave, increased severance pay, and contributions to supplementary pension savings. Additionally, workers will receive two recovery days, often referred to as sick days.
