According to the Government, the minimum monthly net wage will rise by 13.7% next year, to 53,592 dinars (€ 458). The decision on the increase was made in agreement with unions and employers, the prime minister said in a statement. The Government had initially proposed an 8%-10% increase. The prime minister also noted the minimum wage for the first time covers the cost of the minimum consumer basket. Representatives of the union Nezavisnost and the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia emphasised the decision was reached by consensus. However, some unions that were not directly involved in the talks, such as the United Trade Unions of Serbia Sloga and the Association of Free and Independent Unions (ASNS), expressed dissatisfaction with the result.
