The Government approved the decision for the increase of the gross monthly minimum wage from 3,300 RON (€ 663) to 3,700 RON (€ 743), starting on 1 July 2024. The hourly rate will be 22.02 RON (€ 4.42) for a normal work schedule of 168 hours/month on average. The increased net value of the minimum gross salary is 2,363 RON (€ 475), the net increase being 284 RON (€ 57). Approximately 760,000 employees currently benefit from the minimum wage, i.e. around 14% of the total number of active employees.
