According to Eurostat, Romania had the EU's highest annual increase in hourly wage costs in the first quarter of 2024, at 16.4%, followed by Bulgaria with 15.8% and Croatia with 15.3%. Hourly labour costs in Romania in the first three months of the year grew the most in construction (20.5%), followed by services (15.9%) and industry (14.4%).
