Doctors in the National Health Service (SNS) are set to stage a two-day national strike alongside a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Health. Doctors are overwhelmed by excessive overtime demands, with irregular payment for their work, and delays in recruitment processes. This has led to systematic closures of emergency services, forcing users to travel long distances for care. The National Federation of Doctors (FNAM) has been advocating for solutions such as better salaries, improved working conditions, and a return to the 35-hour work week. The strike is part of FNAM’s broader effort to defend the National Health Service. The union is calling for a range of improvements, including reduced patient lists, updated Health Authority supplements, and fair compensation for overtime.
