Portugal - New collective agreement in healthcare, social services and education - August 31, 2024

A new collective agreement was finalized between union SINTAP and the União das Misericórdias Portuguesas (UMP), marking a significant advancement in negotiations. This agreement, developed through detailed discussions that began in November 2023, impacts various sectors represented by UMP, including healthcare, social services, education, and charitable work. Under the agreement, most positions will see a 9.5% salary increase, while teaching staff will receive a 4% raise. These adjustments will be retroactive to January 2024, representing an enhancement in worker compensation. The agreement aims to improve salary structures and increase the recognition and value of careers within these sectors.
