Norway - Varying union support for state sector agreement - June 30, 2024

Support for the latest state sector agreement varies between the unions involved. The confederations LO and YS signal their approval. The proposed agreement outlines a general wage increase of 5.2%, with three-quarters of this amount determined locally, and only a quarter decided in central negotiations, highlighting the significance of local representation and autonomy in shaping labour agreements. The union Fagoborbundet backs the creation of a single agreement although it had hoped for a flat-rate increase rather than a percentage increase. The union Delta also expressed its support. Voting is currently underway, and the outcomes of these processes will unveil the further direction of this development.
