Norway - New agreement for kindergartens - September 30, 2024

After extended negotiations involving the union Fagforbundet, the Education Association, and non-partisan employee organisation Delta, a collective settlement has been reached for employees in FUS kindergartens, a chain of privately owned early childhood centers. The agreement aligns their terms with those of PBL kindergartens and the municipal sector, securing general salary increases to maintain workers purchasing power. A key aspect of the settlement is the introduction of a joint pension scheme, set to take effect from 1 March 2024, enhancing pension security for staff. In addition to wage increases, the agreement provides extra remuneration for workers pursuing further education.
