In 2024, negotiated wages were 6.6% higher than in 2023, on average. In 2023, wages were already up by 6.1%. Wage growth in 2024 was therefore the highest since 1982. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports this on the basis of new figures. In the last quarter of 2024, negotiated wages were 6.5% higher than in the same quarter of 2023. Since the second half of 2023, negotiated wages have been up by more than 6.2% in each quarter (year on year), with the highest increase in the third quarter of 2024 (6.9%).
