Netherlands - 8.5% higher pay for civil servants - March 31, 2024

Civil servants working for the central government sector will receive an 8.5% pay increase in July and a structural € 50 per month on top of their salary. As a result, employees in the lower pay scales in particular are making significant progress. In addition, all government staff will receive a one-off payment of € 1,200 in May as an inflation compensation, a one-off payment of € 800 in November, followed by another € 350 in July 2025. The negotiation result will now be presented to the union members. In addition, agreements have also been made to improve social safety in the workplace. The central government will set up an independent integrity committee with an emergency procedure. This procedure is intended for integrity inicdents that are directly related to the work, such as acute social abuse, serious pressure or seriously inappropriate treatment.
