Malta - Government intends to ban wage payments in cash - October 31, 2024

The Government is going to introduce a legal notice that will ban the payment of wages being made in cash, making it mandatory for salaries to be paid through direct debit or, in exceptional circumstances, by cheque, The rule will be that employers will not be allowed to pay wages in cash, to protect the rights and dignity of workers, especially those who have the smallest voice.
