Lithuania - New collective agreement with environment ministry - December 31, 2024

The Ministry of the Environment and the trade union representing its workers, part of the Lithuanian Trade Union of State, Budget, and Public Service Employees (LTUSE-LVDPS), have signed a new collective agreement aimed at improving working conditions, strengthening workers’ rights, and fostering social dialogue. Effective from 6 December and valid for four years, the agreement introduces provisions covering remuneration, performance evaluation, career opportunities, and training. Trade union members will benefit from additional social guarantees, such as extra leave for health improvement, self-development, and learning, as well as representation during service evaluations or in cases of rights protection. The agreement also ensures that workers will be informed early about planned structural changes and included in consultations.
