Women’s average gross hourly earnings in 2023 were 16.5% lower than men’s, according to provisional data from the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSP). CSP reports that when compared to the previous year, the gap between men’s and women’s hourly pay has decreased by 0.6 percentage points. In 2023, the largest pay gap was observed in the information and communication services sector (33.5%), in the financial and insurance activities sector (30.6%), in trade (27.8%) and in the arts, culture and recreation services sector (27.6%).
