The vast majority of the population do not support a salary increase for the state’s top officials, according to a survey published on 4 December. Initially, the Government promised that the salaries of elected public officials would not be increased, but when the draft budget reached the Parliament, it turned out that the salaries of the top officials would increase by 2.6%. According to the survey, a majority of 85.3% of the respondents do not support such a salary increase.
