There is word of age discrimination when it comes to wages of workers, according to an expert of the Figure Baltic Advisory Board. The younger generation is paid higher wages than people of the pre-pension generation. The reason for differences in wages between wages is not because older people are specifically paid lower wages, but rather because they have fewer opportunities on the labour market. The expert also stressed that it is often believed workers of the older generation have problems using new technologies – this is only a stereotype, as representatives of every generation face various challenges on the labour market. As for the gender pay gap, there is no talk of pronounced and deliberate gender discrimination in the labour market, but differences in remuneration are often caused by unconscious prejudices and unconscious discrimination.
