Italy - General strike against Government budget plan - November 30, 2024

Thousands of public sector workers protested against the government budget plan. Unions CGIL and UIL stated that salary increases for public servants included in the budget law are not enough to bridge the gap with high inflation rates in the past three years. The unions organised a general strike with 43 demonstrations across the country. Key demands include measures to increase the purchasing power of wages and pensions, alongside adequate financing for healthcare, education, public services, and industrial policies.
