Italy - Disability accommodation to be provided by employers - December 31, 2024

From 2025 an independent authority will be responsible for defending the rights of disabled people at work in Italy. It has been set up by a decree-law, which also defines the concept of 'reasonable accommodation' that disabled employees are entitled to request from their employer, and the brand new national authority will be able to provide a means of redress in the event of a dispute. The decree-law does not apply to employees providing care.
