Iceland - Unions criticize agreement with fake union - December 31, 2024

Several unions, including Efling, BSRB and BHM, criticize the collective agreement that the Association of Catering Companies. (SVEIT) has closed with union Virðingu, since this is a fake union, which has been founded by entrepreneurs in the catering business. According to Efling, the intention of the collective agreement is “to undermine their staff” and reduce wages and labour rights.
