The average gross hourly wage of skilled and semi-skilled workers was HUF 2,100 (€ 5.25) in the third quarter, an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. This is the result of an analysis by a recruitment agency, which analysed the wage data of almost 7,000 employees. The agency expects this wage growth to continue at a rapid pace in the longer term. The current economic policy objectives are likely to lead to a sharp increase in the minimum wage, which will have a significant impact on wages in the lower wage brackets.
