According to the newspaper Index, the Government is considering significant legal amendments that could drastically alter the country’s minimum wage system. Although no formal agreement has been reached, two key regulatory changes are expected. First, the Permanent Consultation Forum of the Private Sector (VKF) and the Government will officially determine the amount of annual minimum wage increases in the future. Second, the government decided that in future the minimum wage should be at a level of 50% of the average wage. This is intended to be implemented in several stages, but no later than 2027.
