Germany - Higher pay in confectionery industry - November 30, 2024

After long negotiations, strikes and intensive actions, union NGG has concluded collective agreements for employees in in the confectionery industry in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and Berlin with significant wage increases and other benefits. In NRW, employees will receive a wage increase of 5% from 1 November 2024, but at least € 152. In October 2025, another 2.5% will be added. The remuneration of trainees will increase in two steps by a total of € 150 per month. In addition, all full-time employees will receive an inflation compensation bonus of € 810 by December 2024 at the latest. In Berlin, wages will increase by 5% from 1 November, and there will be a one-off payment of € 600. A further increase of 2.5% will follow in October 2025.
