Despite challenging economic conditions, the union IG BAU has achieved a significant collective bargaining result for the brick industry in East Germany. For the months of November and December 2024, employees will receive an inflation compensation premium of € 400. From 1 January 2025, wages will increase by 1.9% and by a further 2.6% on 1 August 2025. In addition, from August 2025, working hours will be reduced from 39 to 38 hours per week with full wage compensation. Training allowances will also increase from January 2025. The collective agreement has a term of 14 months and ends on 31 December 2025.
