Germany - Agreement in cement and insulation industry - August 31, 2024

In the second round of negotiations the collective bargaining commission of union IG BAU has achieved a collective bargaining agreement for employees in the East German cement and insulation industry. As of September 1, 2024, wages and salaries will increase by 3.9%. The result will also be passed on to trainees. In addition, there will be an inflation compensation bonus of € 800 for workers. Trainees will receive € 400. From January 1, 2026, weekly working hours will be reduced from 39 to 38.5 hours. This corresponds to a wage increase of a further 1.3%. The collective agreement has a term of 14 months.
