Finland - Strike warning for private emergency medical services - November 30, 2024

Trade union Tehy announced a strike warning targeting two private emergency medical service companies, Med Group Ensihoitopalvelu Oy and EMA Finland Oy. The action comes after protracted negotiations on a new collective agreement collapsed. The employers are proposing zero pay increases and the abandonment of a sectoral pay rescue programme agreed in 2022. The collective agreement expired on 30 April 2024, with negotiations underway since March and a voluntary mediation attempt in October yielding no results. The strike is scheduled for 20–21 November 2024. Furthermore, a ban on gig work, a job search embargo and a ban on temporary transfers have been imposed on all sites covered by the strike, effective from 5 to 21 November.
