A new joint declaration of trade unions and employers in the EU banking sector puts workers at the bargaining table in every step of the decision-making and implementation process of artificial intelligence. The declaration, between UNI Europa – the European services workers’ union – and European bank employers EBF, EACB, ESBG is the first of its kind in the sector in the EU. It means that employers and trade unions should ensure that they take advantage of AI through social dialogue, including collective bargaining, regarding the use, implementation, and continuous monitoring of AI.
