Denmark - New collective agreement for informal caregivers - September 30, 2024

A new collective agreement between the trade union FOA and the municipalities has been established for informal caregivers, marking an important development in FOA's efforts to protect more workers. The agreement, which came into effect on 1 September 2024, secures essential rights for this group of workers, including pay during illness, pension benefits, a sixth week of holiday, and increased holiday allowance. Informal caregivers, often family members who care for sick relatives, previously lacked the protections and benefits granted under the social and health agreements.
