Croatia - Call for wage increase - September 30, 2024

The Government has expressed the view that workers deserve higher wages, emphasising that the country’s labour shortage cannot be addressed solely through the recruitment of foreign workers. In 2021, the country had just over 80,000 foreign workers. This year, the country is expecting close to 200,000 work permit applications for foreign workers. According to the Government, the solution to labour shortages is to increase wages.
