Management of auto producer Audi Brussels rejected the unions' counter-proposal to the redundancy plan soon after it was presented. Around 200 workers gathered at the plant, due to be closed next year, to support the union representatives meeting with management. In October, management proposed its first social plan, which included a closure bonus. This led to a brief spontaneous strike due to union disappointment. Management rejected the unions' counter-proposal but presented a new social plan, which was better received. During the meeting, the unions presented a new proposal that makes no distinction between manual workers and other employees.
