The IT industry has a lot of work and too few staff, but collective bargaining has not progressed for six rounds. There is also a dispute about overpayments. Union GPA is calling for a protest in front of the Chamber of the Economy. The basis for the negotiations is an inflation rate of 7.75%; the union initially entered the talks with a demand of 9.75% and the employers initially did not submit an offer at all. The current positions are still far apart. The union lowered its demand to 9.2% and an 8.8% increase in actual salaries; employers are currently offering 7.25% and a 6.25% increase of actual salaries. Around 90,000 employees are covered by the IT collective agreement.
