The tough collective negotiations for bicycle couriers have started moving again. After Foodora granted its salaried and freelance employees a 5.8% increase on 1 August, Lieferando is also taking a step in this direction. From September, the largest employer in the food delivery sector wants to voluntarily increase pay of its employees by 7.8%. Nevertheless, according to the trade union vida, the current development is not yet a reason to celebrate. The wage increase is still below the inflation compensation of 8.7% demanded by vida. Despite a slight improvement, Lieferando employees have to accept a loss in real wages.
