Spain - Department store offers voluntary departures to people over 59 years - February 28, 2023

Retail chain El Corte Inglés, Spain's leading department store chain, has presented the trade unions with a reorganization plan as a way of coping with changes in the retail sector and in consumer habits. The plan includes the possibility for employees aged 59 and over to retire earlier than the current retirement age of 66 as well as opportunities for staff to be redeployed from general services roles to the store outlets.
