The government decided to increase the minimum monthly net wage by 12.9% to € 878 to reflect increased cost of living, it said. The gross minimum wage was raised by 12% to € 1,203 after it was lifted by 4.9% last year. Under the country's legislation, the minimum wage should be adjusted at least once yearly by the amount of the increase in consumer goods prices and should stand at between 120% and 140% of the calculated minimum cost of living, which totalled € 669.83 in October 2022.
