In September 2023, the average nominal monthly wage grew year-on-year in all 10 monthly monitored sectors. Wages in retail increased the most by 16.2% to € 1,135. Wages of employees also increased at a double-digit rate in food and beverage service activities by 13.1% to € 710 and in selected market services by 11.9% to € 1,390. In September, wages in most monitored sectors also increased year-on-year in real terms. The most significant increase was again in retail (7.4%). In the transport sector, by contrast, they remained at the level of September 2022. A decline in real wages year-on-year was recorded in information and communication (-1.4%), as well as in industry (-0.7%).
