The average nominal monthly wage in February 2023 increased year-on-year in all ten sectors of the economy. It rose the least, by 8.7%, in the sector with the highest wages – in information and communication (€ 2,322), and the most in the accommodation sector by 22% (€ 1,002). Wages rose by more than 15% in the sectors with the lowest wages - in food and beverage service activities (€ 683) and in construction (€ 928). In other sectors, wages rose between 10.3% to 14.3%. However, the high growth of consumer prices caused real wages to fall year-on-year in the majority of the industries. They dropped the most in information and communication by 5.8%, in industry by 4.4% and in selected market services by 3%. Real wages rose in only three sectors, by 5.7% in accommodation, and up to one percent in food and beverage service activities, as well as in construction.
