Netherlands - 12% extra pay for cleaners - May 31, 2023

The union FNV has successfully completed negotiations with the employers in the cleaning industry about an extra pay rise. In December 2021, a collective agreement was reached that will run until July 2024. But in view of the high inflation FNV Cleaners demanded an extra pay rise. It was agreed that cleaners will get an extra 12% pay rise. In the current collective agreement wages would only rise by 1.5% until July 2024. This year, cleaners will receive an additional increase of 3.5% in November. The wage increase that was only to take effect on 1 April 2024, will now take effect on 1 January 2024 and has been doubled to 3%. On 30 June (the last day of the collective agreement), wages will increase by another 5.5%.
