Latvia - Teachers’ union points to unresolved wages issue - November 30, 2023

According to head of the Latvian Educationa and Science Workers' Association (LIZDA), some teachers' salary for October is likely to be lower than promised and there are problems in calculations at both national and local government level. She admitted the problems were in calculations and “formulae” that have been inherited over time. In some municipalities, money is also allegedly distributed contrary to the provisions of the cabinet regulations.
