According to Statistics Iceland, average regular monthly earnings were 668,000 ISK (€ 4,463) in 2022. For full time employees, regular monthly earnings were 745,000 ISK (€ 4,977) and the median 669,000 ISK (€ 4,469). 63% of employees received regular monthly earnings below the amount of average earnings, mainly because collective agreements set minimum wage rates but no maximum wages. Mean total monthly earnings for full-time employees were 871,000 ISK (€ 5,819) in 2022 and one fourth received total earnings below 636,000 ISK (€ 4,249). Half of all males had total monthly earnings over 826,000 ISK (€ 5,518) but one-third of females only. Full-time male employees worked on average 180.2 hours per month and full-time female employees 173 hours.
