The pilot agreement for the automotive repair and maintenance sector, which the trade union IG Metall concluded in the bargaining region Baden-Württemberg has been adopted in almost all other collective bargaining regions including Hamburg, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and for the automotive repair and maintenance sector in Eastern Germany. For the employees in car dealerships and garages, this means a significant permanent wage increase and an inflation compensation premium. Until July 2023, employees will receive an income compensation bonus of € 1,500 net. Apprentices receive € 750. In the first quarter of 2024 there will be another € 1,000 net inflation compensation and € 500 for trainees. In addition, wages will increase by 5% as of November 2023 and by a further 3.6% as of October 2024. The collective agreement has a term of 24 months and runs until 31 March 2025.
