Germany - Collective agreement for railway workers - May 31, 2023

In the third round of negotiations, on 5 May 2023, the trade union ver.di and the railway employers’ association Deutsche Eisenbahnen e.V. (AGVDE) agreed on a collective agreement for the approximately 5,000 employees covered by the new agreement. The employees receive a tax-free one-off payment of € 1,500 in June. In addition, wages will increase by € 300 per month from October 2023. The duration of the agreement is 18 months until September 2024. The agreement was preceded by two warning strikes, each involving more than 2,000 workers.
