The trade union IG BAU has reached a collective agreement for employees in the East German brick industry. Wages will rise by 3.6% for the period November 2023 to 30 April 2024. From 1 May 2024, working hours will be reduced by one hour per week, from 40 to 39 hours with full wage compensation. This corresponds to a monthly wage increase of € 113. There is also an inflation compensation bonus of € 400 for all employees. Trainees receive € 200 and part-time employees receive proportional amounts of their working hours. The collective agreement has a term of 12 months.
