Germany - 9.2% pay rise in the locksmith trade - October 31, 2023

The union IG Metall North Rhine-Westphalia and the employers' association Fachverband Metall have agreed on a collective agreement in the third bargaining round for the metalworking trade in North Rhine-Westphalia. The salaries of the 58,000 employees will increase in two stages by a total of 9.2%. There will be a 5.3% pay rise on 1 November 2023 and a further 3.9% on 1 November 2024. The employees also receive an inflation compensation bonus of € 1,500. The training allowance will increase by € 70 on 1 November 2023 and by € 60 on 1 November 2024. The trainees also receive an inflation compensation bonus of € 750. The collective agreement was preceded by warning strikes in which a total of around 2,200 employees from 27 companies took part in North Rhine-Westphalia.
