Employees in the north-west German bread industry will get a 8.5% pay rise. The trade union NGG and the employers have agreed on this in a new collective agreement. Wages and salaries will increase in two steps and there is an inflation premium of € 1,250 net. The duration of the agreement is 13 months. Employees’ willingness to engage in collective action was an important prerequisite for this wage agreement. After intensive negotiations and deliberations, NGG’s collective bargaining committee approved the agreement on May 22, 2023.
