EU Sources - More than half of workers spend more than half their time on work-related communication - October 31, 2023

Data by economic activity at EU level published by Eurostat shows that around 55% of people employed in the sectors ‘finance and insurance’, ‘education’, and ‘accommodation and food services’ spend at least half their working time interacting with others. On the other hand, over 40% of people employed in ‘mining and quarrying’, ‘households as employers’, and ‘agriculture, forestry and fishing’ declared that they spent little or none of their working time on social interactions. This information comes from Eurostat’s 2022 EU-LFS module on job skills.
