Estonia - Negotiations about minimum wage - April 30, 2023

Trade unions and employers tentatively plan to reach an agreement next month that would see the minimum wage rise higher than usual this year and set it at 60% of the median wage within four years. Minimum wage discussions usually take place in the autumn, but the Social Democrats (SDE) highlighted the issue during government negotiations last month. The party wants an agreement between unions and employers to be concluded as soon as possible, on both this year's rise and a plan for the next four years. However, the Confederation of Estonian Trade Unions and the Estonian Employers' Confederation are sceptical about the possibility of reaching an agreement on next year's minimum wage next month.
