Austria - Successful agreement in adult education - May 31, 2023

In the 5th round of negotiations on 22 May 2023, the trade union Vida concluded a collective agreement for the approximately 9,000 employees in adult education. The salaries will increase by 9.6% from 1 August 2023, but at least by € 250. On average, this is a 10.03% increase, above the underlying inflation rate of 9.03%. Additional allowances will also be increased by 9.6%. Apprentices and transit workers will get an increase of 9.6% as of 1 May 2023. For May, June and July 2023 there is a monthly cost-of-living allowance of € 270 (on a full-time basis). For most employees, the cost-of-living allowance means more net than gross because it is tax-exempt.
